Gold Tone Weissenborn SM (2004)

The Weissenborn guitars were made in the 1920s. They are rare and valuable.

The Gold Tone model is a very accurate reproduction. The neck is hollow as the originals. Maple inlaid fret markers. Rope top binding .The interior bracing is the same as the original as are the dimensions.

All solid mahogany body-top, sides and back. Bone nut and saddle. Kluson style enclosed tuning machines.

The sound is sweet and warm, not at all metallic like the conventional Resophonic guitars. It is well suited for Hawaiian music and anytime a sweet warm sound is desired.

The TKL hardshell case is specially made to fit the guitar.

The 2012 list price for the guitar is $938.00. The hardshell case is an additional $169.00 for a total of $1107.00. The price on the one I have is only $659.00.
