Martin D-28 Ser. No. 149896 (1956)

Very good + condition. Beautiful straight grained Brazilian rosewood back and sides. No cracks-repaired or unrepaired.

New AAA Adirondack top, made to prewar specs., done by Steve Kovacik, http://www.guitar-repair.com/ (See letter below for details.) Forward shifted X brace, small maple bridge plate etc. The grain is the closest and most uniform of any Adirondack top I have ever seen. The finish has a very attractive amber “aging toner” The result is the look of a very old guitar but with a flawless finish.

When Steve Kovacik did the new top he also did a complete refret and neck reset. As a result the action is perfect. It plays like a dream with no buzzing.
The sound is amazing! Huge bass with plenty of volume.  Imagine what it will sound like after being played a while!
This guitar is the closest thing to a prewar D-28, and for a small fraction of the cost.
Specs: Mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge. 1 1/16” nut, Scale: ~25.4”. Lower bout: 15 5/8”. Original “waffle” back machines and ivory nut. Original top binding reinstalled. Original hardshell case.
