Larrivée Rosewood Parlor Guitar

Excellent condition except for hairline crack in back. The guitar showed signs of being “dried out” when it came in. (Subjected to low humidity for more than a short time.) I believe the crack was a result of the guitar being dried out. I gradually brought the moisture level up and all the signs of being dried out disappeared. I then repaired the crack, installing a reinforcement stripe of old spruce on inside. (See photo into sound hole and close up photo of back.) The crack is now very difficult to see. You have to hold the guitar at just the right angle and look very closely. Even then it is barely visible.

Nut is 1 ¾”. Scale is 24”. Lower bout is 13 ¼”. Solid Spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides, one piece mahogany neck, ebony bridge and fingerboard. All satin finish. (The back of the neck has glossed up from playing which is normal.) Serial #35189.

This is one of the early Larrivée Parlor guitars, circa early 1990’s, made in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Several years ago Larrivee’ “ upgraded” the Parlors to 05 and 09 Series appointments, including an all gloss body finish. These are made in Larrivée’s California facility. The prices increased by over $400.00! So, these satin finish Parlors are a tremendous value, because you are paying only for the essentials of a fine parlor guitar. The guitar comes with the original Larrivée padded gig bag. A new plush lined flat lid Canadian made hard shell case is available for an additional $89.
