Long neck open back banjo. Made by Deering Banjo Co. Near new condition. This is essentially what was made by Vega and called the Seeger ( For Pete Seeger) model. Scale: ~ 27” (measured from third fret.) Nut: 1 ¼”. Eleven inch frosted head ( no name imprint; probably made by Remo.) Tu-ba-phone tone ring. Three ply maple rim. Bracket band (no holes drilled through the rim) and shoes. One piece curly maple neck. Vega name inlaid in pearl in the head stock. Pearl dot inlays in fingerboard. Planetary style machines stamped Deering; geared fifth string machine. Rim and neck have walnut stain. Gloss finish on neck and headstock. Nickel plated hardware. Original Deering hardshell case, heavily padded, with green lining; arched lid. $2995.00
